We follow the Common Core aligned Everyday Math (EDM) program for math in third grade. You may use your child's login to explore the Everyday Math website, which includes games for skill practice and animations of algorithms (methods) taught this year, such as trade-first for subtraction, partial sums for addition, and partial products for multiplication. You can even print out an extra copy of your child's homework or the unit Family Letter, just in case!
It's important that children spend time each day practicing their basic facts. These facts are the foundation for understanding math concepts and for working fluently through math problem solving. I recommend practicing facts for 5-10 minutes a day. Here are just a few ways your child can practice those math facts:
